Fees

Our fee structure for behavioural optometry for educational needs

Behavioural optometry is a highly specialised and complex field, as every child’s visual needs are unique. The types of assessments and therapy programs we offer are tailored to each individual, depending on their specific challenges and goals. Some children may require a single comprehensive evaluation, while others benefit from ongoing therapy sessions designed to strengthen their visual skills over time. This personalised approach ensures that every student receives the precise support they need to make meaningful progress.

Screening

These appointments are designed to screen to see whether behavioural optometry is the right option and which areas need to be investigated further.

Eye Examination - £Free* / 39.00

This standard eye examination assesses whether there are any health issues or a need for spectacles / optical correction. In addition to this, we also do a thorough case history and have a look at the key indicators of behavioural optometry. This appointment is FREE for people eligible for an NHS sight test.

Behavioural Optometry Screening - £50.00

This appointment allows us to make decisions on which areas of the vision system would benefit the most from behavioural optometry. The outcome of this appointment determines which assessments we need to perform.

Assessment

We have three different full assessments which cover three of the main areas of visual processing. Each appointment takes 90 minutes and form the basis of all the treatments that follow. We find that in most cases patients only need to undergo two of the three available options.

VT1 - £230.00

Sensory and motor integration, i.e. how our eyes and vision system interact with each other

VT2 - £230.00

Binocular Vision and Focussing Systems

VT3 - £230.00

Visual Processing, i.e. what is happening with the information our eyes give to the brain.

Vision Therapy

Typically most patients need either a 12 or 6 appointment course with one of our vision therapists. Each appointment lasts 30 minutes and any necessary materials. In addition, we include a 30-minute progress appointment with a behavioural optometrist after every 6 therapy sessions to monitor progress.
